At Essence BJJ we teach you as our Masters used to teach us, a complete martial art that prepares you to the challenges on and off the mat.
In our Adult BJJ Program you wil learn self-defense, takedowns, ground fighting and much more!
It’s a super fun and friendly class and a great way to help you lose weight, tone your muscles, boost your happiness hormone and meet an amazing community!
Take your first step in this journey!
The fundamental program is designed for people with none or minimal experience. We’ll cover the concepts and the fundamental techniques that every Jiu-Jitsu practitioner should know. Improve your movement, coordination and understanding of the core techniques. This is the time to build a solid foundation!
This is the program that will take your Jiu-Jitsu game to the next level! More details, less common situations, in-depth exploration of complex techniques and strategy applied to your game plan. Countless possibilities will be presented as BJJ incorporates techniques from other different grappling styles.
No Gi is the traditional Jiu-Jitsu adapted to the lack of a uniform to grab. You will learn to take down, control, hold, and apply submissions without the need of a gi. This is a faster grappling modality and will help you increase your stamina and your timing to the application of the techniques.
Through consistent practice, individuals develop heightened self-awareness, learning to manage stress, and navigate challenges both on and off the mat. Jiu-Jitsu encourages a deep connection between mind and body, promoting mindfulness and reducing anxiety. Additionally, the supportive community aspect fosters camaraderie, boosting confidence and providing a sense of belonging. Overall, Jiu-Jitsu serves as a powerful tool for improving mental well-being, offering a space for personal growth, emotional regulation, and a stronger mindset. For kids with autism, our classes offer a predictable routine and clear boundaries, aiding in sensory integration and enhancing coordination. It helps develop motor skills and body awareness while teaching valuable techniques for managing impulses and emotions, crucial for those with ADHD.
Moreover, the supportive and non-judgmental atmosphere of Essence BJJ can foster self-confidence and a sense of achievement, contributing to overall mental and emotional well-being for these kids.
Jiu-Jitsu will become a powerful, safe and nurturing tool for their development!

The facility is modern, spacious and clean. My daughters love the classes, the professors are amazing at keeping the kids engaged. I’d highly recommend Essence to anyone who is either interested in trying Jiujitsu for the first time or has been doing it for a while. It is excellent for kids to learn and practice Brazilian jiu-jitsu, improve self-esteem and discipline while having fun. My daughter loves it, and I genuinely recommend it. Tiago Grand Court2024-08-24Trustindex verifies that the original source of the review is Google. I had a great time there. For sure there is one of the most beautiful and clean academy that I’ve ever visited. The professors are great and also the staff. I hope to come by again soon. Ruby McKinley2024-06-24Trustindex verifies that the original source of the review is Google. Professor Jerry, Professor Tony, and Carol have been amazing! Our child recently started Jiu Jitsu and I just completed a trial class as well. The professors are great with children (which isn't always the easiest thing to do). I appreciate their patience and the environment they create in both the kids and adults classes. The classes are structured and fun, teachings are easily digestible, and I was so thrilled to be able to stitch multiple movements together by the end of class. If you're new to BJJ (like we are) or if you're experienced and looking for a clean, beautiful studio to learn/practice BJJ, check out Essence. They have a great team. We're really, really happy with our experience so far! David Cohen (eSeniorPlacement)2024-06-01Trustindex verifies that the original source of the review is Google. Everyone from Gabriella at the front desk to Tony & Felipe the 5th degree black belt instructors have been so welcoming. This is a great community that encourages discipline & respect for one another while learning BJJ. If you are on the fence about coming by, I would not think twice and come check it out.
